I just received notice that BLT and BWV passed their 'Surfside Condo Law' inspection. I hope and expect the same is true for the other Florida DVC resorts.

"Disney’s BoardWalk Villas Condominium Association, Inc. (the “Association”) has completed the structural integrity reserve study (SIRS) for Disney’s BoardWalk Villas (the “Resort”) as required by § 718.112(2)(g), Florida Statutes. The results of the SIRS confirm that the Association has collected and has budgeted sufficient reserves to maintain, repair, and replace SIRS components at the Resort...."

I would expect DVC to be the least affected by this law. Since they're leases, Disney has a big incentive to keep everything in excellent condition. After all, members pay for it and they own it at the end. The fees are also quite high compared to other TS in Orlando. Eg, the "middle" season 2br is 424 points, or $3400/week in maintenance at Bay Lake Tower. That's way more than other Orlando resorts spend, so they should be able to cover appropriate reserves.

Only for Theme Park View. Standard View rooms are 313 points (or $2510.26) which is less than the $2,683.26 for MVC Lakeshore Reserve. Both of which feel like a steal compared to $1,997.85 for a Grand Vista 2BR (where I own)...but that's another story...;-)

Fair point. Probably the thing to do would be take an average of the views to make a more fair comparison. Even if the "average" 2br MF is only $2850/week or something that's not low compared to other Orlando TS - and I'd rank MVC as probably the worst for cost control.

and I'd rank MVC as probably the worst for cost control.
Why would MVC want to control costs when they make 10% of every dollar spent? They've got to spend money to make money - literally.

Received the same notice for SSR and OKW. I guess we can all just breathe a sigh or relief that the buildings won't sink into a hole like the one did at Summer Bay.

Same here - received for OKW - is BCV next.....

The buildings are one thing, but the bus parking areas are a whole different matter. The bus loop at AKL-Jambo is being replaced because it was sinking. Last year, the same happened at Pop Century. Florida is around 34 million acres of beach (sand), which can shift under the constant weight of 10-12 ton buses.
