Big website issue at Fairfield Sapphire Valley

I'm just adding to this thread from last fall because this is still a problem on the owner website. My kids have a long weekend off of school in March and I was looking to see if there was availability nearby. Sapphire is the closest Wyndham resort to our house and we've never been there. There appears to be plenty of availability and I'd consider it, but there's absolutely no way of knowing whether I'd be booking in the Wyndham section or the non-Wyndham section with the ridiculous fee. There's really no excuse for it at this point.
If your not staying at a Wyndham there are extra fees for use of the facilities which we saw before we booked.

The issue is, as i've said ad-nauseum, and multiple people have reported, you have no way of knowing what unit you are getting until you show up. Apparently if you call and have the VC make the transaction for you, they have a way of seeing. Basically the only units which there are no extra fees are Mountain Laurel...

One kind of workaround I have found, if you have the ability to book for more than, or less than 7 days at a time, it's almost certain the unit is Mountain Laurel. Because Foxhunt and Fairway Forest both can only be booked in increments of 7 days.

What days/weeks are you looking?

I see this availability:
Any checkin on 3/1-3/4 staying through 3/7. There are various units, including 2BR LO are almost certainly Mountain Laurel
The checkins on 3/5 and 3/6 are almost certainly Fairway Forest, because you can only book them for a min/max of 7 or 14 days
Any checkin on 3/8-3/11 staying through 3/13. There are various units, including 2BR LO are almost certainly Mountain Laurel
The checkins on 3/12 are almost certainly Fairway Forest, because you can only book them for a min/max of 7 or 14 days

I could go on, but you see what i'm doing...

Basically what I have found is that if you can reserve a unit for less than 7 days, it's a Wyndham owned unit at Mountain Laurel. If you are reserving one for exactly 7 or 14 days, I would definitely call and make sure you do not get a unit at Fairway Forest...

There are now two resorts listed for Sapphire Valley:

Club Wyndham Resort at Fairfield Sapphire Valley
Foxhunt at Sapphire Valley

I wonder if this was a way to split the Foxhunt/Fairway Forest point chart.

This is very helpful!

There's always been 2 resorts. Actually 3, but at 2 physically different locations.

"Resort 1" - Fairway Forest and Mountain Laurel - these are both part of the larger "Sapphire Valley Resort" There are other systems who have units here as well, and possibly owned units too. The Wyndham office is physically separate from the Fairway Forest office. You go to 2 different places to check in.

"Resort 2" - FoxHunt. This resort is actually down the road a little from Sapphire Valley, and a separate checkin location as well.

Fairway Forest and Foxhunt are on the same Points Chart, units points are identical
Mountain Laurel is on a separate points chart

Under the old website, these units were all listed at the same "location", but when you went to reserve a unit, they were separated out by location. They are not anymore, and that's the frustrating part.

I Guess separating the Fairway Forest units into a spearate "resort" would work, but may be problematic since it's the same physical address...
