If I purchase a "biennial use" package would the open season be available every year. Are there any disadvantages to biennial besides use every second year?

Thanks

Yes, you get access to Open Season every year. The only downside is that you have to pay the club dues (currently $95) every year, even if you own an EOY unit. That is my understanding -- if someone knows otherwise, please feel free to correct me.
