I am a total newbie here, never purchased anything larger than skin moisturizer on e-bay, (well, it was expensive skin moisturizer...)! And, now I'm looking at e-bay and Bidshare timeshare auctions. So, talk to me about how safe these types of services are? What do you need to be careful of, etc.?

And, finally - does anyone have feedback on the following sellers?
lss2838 (165 reviews - 100% positive)
redweek4less (263 reviews - 100% positive)

Thanks for more newbie advice :)

They are safe as long as you use an independent licensed TS closing/escrow company, and all money goes through them.

I like bidshares - unfortunately they do not seem to be attracting a lot of buyers right now. Funtime

There is no "one size fits all" response --- there are too many different sellers with too many different levels of honesty and / or competence. The single piece of advice I will offer is to strongly recommend that you independently verify each and every single detail of every claim or statement in any eBay listing of interest to you.

Some eBay "mega sellers" have listings with multiple errors, incorrect fees, wrong point allocations, poorly identified usage years (annual vs. EOY), week number (and often fail to distinguish between fixed vs. floating) as well as other posted mistakes (or unposted omissions). Sometimes they even get the resort identification itself wrong! They cut and paste pieces of so many ads from one to another that errors are both inevitable and frequent. While it may not be willful dishonesty, wrong information is still wrong information, regardless of intent.

The best deal in the world is no deal at all if you end up buying something completely different than what you thought you were buying.
In short summary --- verify, verify, verify --- EVERYTHING!
