We have been Bluegreen Owners since 2003 and have used points only twice during all those years. It's just not the way we vacation and now that we are retired and only have social security, the expenses are just not worth it anymore. After reading about the exit program, I called and was told I only have 2 options, sell or transfer. I asked about the Deedback (Voluntary Surrender) program and was told it does not exist for me! We have a smaller investment - 11,000 points biennial, even numbered years. Our warrant deed says week 35, the unit number at Shorecrest II in North Myrtle Beach, SC. I spoke with Megan Allen who told me that Vacation Club owners do not qualify for Deedback. Is that true? I pushed harder and she ended up hanging up on me stating that this case was closed. Please help! We want to give away our share in Bluegreen and be done with it before any more expenses are due. Everything is paid off and up to date at this point.

Deed back is available for owners of deeded weeks at Bluegreen managed resorts.
You belong to the BG Vacation Club and do not have a deed.

You can contact BG any phone or fill out this form online.
They charge 1.5 year maint fee to surrender your ownership
Here is the website with all the contact information to directly engage Bluegreen in giving back an unwanted timeshare.

and the phone number: (844) 757-6932

Or you can try to sell it.
There are several Facebook groups that can assist you - many members are looking for points.
You would usually pay the $500 transfer fee.

Good Luck

Thank you! I inquired about the responsible exit program and was not only refused but hung up on!

I read your post.
Respectfully if you kept referring to your ownership as " deeded" (which it is not) and they did not bother to check what you actually owned this could be where the misunderstanding came from.

Fill out the online form with your vacation club ownership info and they will contact you.
There is a very lengthy post pinned on the top of this forum about surrendering your ownership.
Read about others experience. It works.

I appreciate your comments about why it may not have worked. I did not talk at all about deeded property. She told me that it was because I was a vacation club owner that I was not eligible for the responsible exit program. We do have warranty deed paperwork in our safe.

I did fill out the online form and got the call back. She is the one who gave me 2 options and ended up hanging up on me when I continued to ask about the exit program

This is what a BGVC ownership looks like. I had 10 of these contracts at one time.

Does yours look like this?
If not I don't know where to direct you other than reach out to Scott Wilson and Kevin J Collins on the various Facebook groups who assist people without a fee.

**** Edit to remove ownership info

We have nothing that looks like yours. We have an actual title

And yes, I have reached out to Scott Wilson. Thank you for your comments and your time! I appreciate it!

That’s great, he will be able to assist you.
And I see you do have a deed although it looks to be converted to points?
Hoping for a good outcome for you.

Last week, I filled out a form online requesting information about exiting Bluegreen and giving back our points. The call I received ended badly with the Bluegreen employee, Megan, telling me I did not qualify. After reading other posts on this site, I knew I did qualify. The contract was paid off 23 years ago and all fees were paid up to date. I pushed harder asking to speak to her supervisor and she refused and ended up hanging up on me.
Yesterday, I called (844-757-6932) at 9:15am and waited on hold for 35 minutes but it was worth it! A very nice gentleman, Josh, told me my exit options, the 3rd bring the “Relief Program”. I was elated and paid 18 months of maintenance fees. In 3/4 weeks, I should receive by email, paperwork necessary. Once returned, it will take another 2-3 weeks to complete and I will then receive notice that I am no longer a BG owner and not responsible for any additional fees in the future. He estimated about 45 days total. Hooray! Persistence and getting the right person on the phone pays off!

A happy ending.

I say this because there are many timeshares that have NO exit program at any costs.
While it is annoying that it is 1.5 year MF you can confidently say you are done.

I’ll consider myself one of the lucky ones and after paying fees for 23 years, we are happy to be DONE!

UPDATE: I first contacted Josh in Customer Care on 1/20/26. We received our "Assignment and General Release" forms to sign on 1/28/26 - they went to my spam folder! Thankfully, I continued to check there every day and found them (They came from inventory.documents@bgvc.com). We sent then back, signed, via email on 1/29/26, and today 2/1/26 we received the final release from our contract! It took just 12 days! Josh told us it could take up to 45-60 days! Thanks for all the help and knowledge I gained from TUG! We are finally FREE from BG!

That certainly is the fastest time I have heard of!
Thanks for sharing your success story.
