That makes sense. Wrong cpt codes, mismatched dos and the like will definitely trigger rejections. Totally different context than what is being discussed in this thread, and likely most rejections paid once corrected.

Apologies for the delay. It has been confirmed that the maintenance fees are indeed a covered item under the policy. Indeed, it still baffles me that someone in a supervisory/management position took the view that somehow exchange vacations are not covered under a timeshare specific policy. If it was a regular agent, I can understand that there maybe training gaps but this was someone with authority that it concerns me on how it was handled.
The cynical part of me thinks that you hit a supervisor who was missing some quota or target or bonus threshold and needed to reduce their claims payouts.

When an employee in a highly regulated industry like insurance says, "I'm the only avenue of appeal," they're mistaken at best and lying at worst.

Just wanted to close the loop on this ordeal. Brian Rock of Vacation Guard was fantastic in escalating the issue and continued to follow up along the way.

My claim for the maintenance fee and exchange fee was finally reimbursed and deposited into my account last week!

@Seaport104 any word on IF there is still an annual policy, and IF there is how do you purchase it, as it is still not an option on their website.

I tried to find it myself and unfortunately couldn't find it. The last time I purchased the policy was on November 12, 2022 via their website. I wonder if they stopped offering it to the general public and only work with the timeshare systems.

I will ask Brian Rock.

Hello Tuggers,

Here’s the reply from Brian regarding the availability of the annual timeshare plus for purchase by the general public.

“As far as annual timeshare plan purchase, Berkshire Hathaway removed the offer for the annual plan in a retail environment for now. Leaving us to recommend a “per-trip” solution, or it has to be bought via a distributor where the timeshares are all owned. A work in progress, but that’s the current status.”
