Two of my sons moved to Guerneville, California and I plan to visit them sometime this year. Being totally unfamiliar with CA, any help finding a timeshare in that area (an hour north of San Francisco) would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Worldmark in Windsor is probably the closest.

Looking in II directory, I see Worldmark Windsor in Windsor, CA which is nearby (~30 min). There is also Dry Creek Inn in Healdsburg, also <30 min. If you want to do Napa area, there is Vino Bello (the nicest I believe) and River Pointe (converted trailers) that are 1.5 hrs away. Then of course you have San Fran properties, many of them under Shell who supposedly manages them well.

Thanks for those suggestions. I'll check the reviews on TUG, and hope for availability.

I really appreciate your help. :)

We have stayed at Worldmark Windsor many times and really enjoy it. It is indeed close to Guerneville. Haven't stayed at Vino Bello but have heard good things about it.

If your primary goal is to visit your sons, with a little wine tasting thrown in. Do not stay at a TS in San Francisco. With most you are looking at a hefty parking fee per day. Plus with traffic it can take up to 2 1/2 hrs to get to Guerneville.

Napa Timeshare

The Vino Bello in Napa is a little drive from Guerneville, but you can visit Napa and Sonoma wineries on your trip. Enjoy!

If you want to mostly visit your son, I'd recommend Windsor, and even that, as pointed out, is 30 minutes away,(although it's a nice rural drive). Or look into renting a cabin in Guerneville or Forstville on the Russian River.

I stayed at Windsor about three years ago, and it's a gem. Since it's located in a kind of remote area not known for high tourism, it's one of those hidden gems that you run across every so often.

Very nice accommodations, beautiful setting.

Highly recommended.

Thank you all for those helpful responses. Since June begins the tourist season, I'm hoping to find some availability at one of the resorts you suggested.

There are several in San francisco

The ones I seen in SF are converted apartments buildings, no new construction. I see Shell, and wyn ones so far, I can look in Rci book and see whose here

Powell Place has character

I'm with Ian, there is a high hassle factor in driving up that way from the City.
