Last spring I read on TUG that after midnight, East Coast time, was a good time to see inventory that was available within the next 45 days on RCI. I searched, and found, a great June Hawaii exchange by staying up late and being persistent.

Is this "window of opportunity" still there? I have been staying up late and monitoring availability, but I haven't noticed a particular time period where last minute inventory is suddenly available. Is it because it is the holidays? Does RCI do it at a different time? Maybe they don't do it at all?

I also am an II member. Is there a best time of day to check their availability?

Thanks for any help with this!

I would be interested in this too. Because I am on the west coast the after midnight deals are really great for me; no staying up past my bedtime involved :D.

On RCI during the Summer when I was looking; availability popped up at about 12:30 am

I haven't been looking since summer ended. But due to my work schedule, I was up after midnight and lots of great availability would pop up at about 12:30 am ET, both in Weeks and Points. I am not a member of II, so I don't know about them. I believe I recently saw someone post about the lack of last minute availability on RCI. I can't comment because I haven't been looking this Fall.

I have been looking in the middle of the night and there has been nothing. Usually you would see inventory change before your eyes. I am looking for Christmas week which is a busy time but i have always seen the usual resorts there...right now there has been 0 availability through rci. Also the extra vacation resorts change prices day to day...had a unit on hold and it went up 1500.00 the next day. I thought i had rci figured out but they have me wondering if there will be any availability in last call this year.

I've always believed that that very early morning had the best availability until my last trade. I got Meadow Lake resort (near Glacier Nat'l Park) in July 2010, 2 bedroom during a Sunday afternoon. I can't tell you how shocked I was to see it!

Now I need some new deposits to check out the new RCI search system.

RCI sometime after 12:30 AM

Sometime between 12:30 AM and 1:30 AM RCI releases the exchanges that have been on hold for more than 24 hours. Sometimes you can find great exchanges early in the morning.

Thank you. But, being relatively new to trading, can you tell me if I have a week that is already looking, what do I need to do differently to have my week try to locate the newly deposited weeks that RCI just put back into the system. Thank you.

Search actively with another week, or you can search with the deposit being used in the ongoing search. It seems that when the new inventory hits, it takes awhile to match to ongoing searches and an ordinary search can sometimes snap a unit up before it finds a match.

Thank you Dan. I usually only have one week searching at a time since I use my HHI week and usually trade my Orlando week. Thank you.

I have noticed major inventory changes (for the good and bad) just after they come back on line from their weekly maintenance down time on Sunday morning.
