Hi, we'll be in Maui during whale season next month. Our first time in many years.
What's the best time of day to go whale watching? Morning or afternoon?

With snorkeling, we go in the morning because fish are out feeding early morning or late afternoon.
I just don't know about whales.

Also we want to go snorkeling around Lanai.
The Pacific Whale foundation tour vs Trilogy looks good due to cost.
Although I'm pretty sure Trilogy gives A+ service and meals, for the price.
Any other tour groups you'd recommend for Lanai snorkeling?

Thanks!

The morning should be the best, then later in the afternoon. There will be activity all day buy those are usually the peak times. shaka

Whales surface to breathe, so they are always surfacing when they are resident. The whale watching boats are in communication with each other so whatever cruise you go on there is a high probability of sighting them.

We like to snorkel early in the morning. Like 60 to 90 minutes after Sunrise. Little to no wind or waves. Also smaller crowds.
