They have a deal with Fiji Government, which is why they have been there for so many years now. They get 50% of their expenses reimbursed as credit. The crew love it as they have a hotel just an island away when they are not on duty. Better location all around.

Jeff has discussed this on interviews and we chatted to our Fiji hosts about it while we were there this fall. They both view it as a win-win situation.

Besides Hypothermia is way too deadly.

Thanks...those tax credits sure come in handy, even in USA locations for filmmakers. So I get it...more Fiji, and hey, wouldn't it be fun to have a TUGger reunion in Fiji? I guess they have timeshares right? Albeit expensive airfares to get there! Thanks for posting your "intel" on this topic...happy holidays!

I’m here too. Still watching every episode after all these years. Love the photography and scenery. It’s mindless relaxation. I always looked forward to just vegging out Wed. nights after working late.
At least I know when it's on now. I even lost track of that.

Finally watched the last two episodes of Survivor last night. We actually liked all of the Survivor series since they started Survivor. The next season will be interesting as all the players are good players from past games.

The one thing about this last game was it did get a bit disturbing with the inappropriate touching, the game plays that used the inappropriate touching and the inaction of CBS to stop this off the get go. But then remembering other episodes where players exposed their bodies and the use of body heat in shelters, it makes me wonder if the shelters will be no snuggle zones and clothing will be required to play.

Solve that by requiring all the gals to share one shelter, and all the guys share another. That means building two shelters, but they could do it as a "challenge". I personally wouldn't ever want to sleep alongside a strange man wearing scanty clothing. Hope I don't sound too sexist!

Nope, didn't sound sexist at all Carol. I have a hard enough time sitting next to a clean person on an airplane that laying next to a stinky person would bum me out.

I do get the why people use body heat to stay warm or eat odd things because they are hungry. It is too bad they need to have two shelters now after 20 years of no publicly reported problems. I wonder if other players will come forward now that the cat is out of the bag.
