Best South Carolina Resort

Looking for the best South Carolina Resort for next March! Tried searching but couldn't find a good thread, apologies if I missed it.

That time of year we'd much prefer HHI. For HH we prefer Grande Ocean but Barony and Surfwatch are great too. The reasons we prefer MGO are because it's closer to the infrastructure and generally closer to the beach overall. My order of peference for HHI would be the following.

1. MGO OF
2. Barony OF
3. MGO OS
4. Surfwatch Ocean Vista
5. Barony OS
6. Surfwtch OV
7. Surfwatch GV
8. Barony GV
9. Monarch
10. Heritage
11. Harbour Club
12. Sunset Pointe
13. Harbour Point

Dean's list is pretty solid and mostly lines up with my preferences. I'd move Harbour Club up the list quite a bit since you are going in March making the beach less desireable, and I'd take Monarch over Surfwatch and Barony Gardenview. Dean didn't include Ocean Watch in Myrtle Beach which is fine by me. OW gets overly crowded due to the small ocean front footprint and lack of chairs around the ocean side pool.

The list provided is a good one. I would add, it depends on you. March is great weather for bike riding. If you enjoy this, then Sea Pines accessibility is key. GrandevOcean provides access and Monarch is on it. If golf is more important or a secondary consideration then Heritage comes into play with 10 rounds of free golf. If you want an indoor pool, Grande Ocean, Barony and Surfwatch are the choices. Monarch sleeps only 6, but if you have only adults, the real number is 4.

I would include Ocean Watch somewhere on Dean list for an onsite beach experience , golfing, grocery stores shopping near the resort and some excellent restaurants near the resort .

I wouldn't which is why I didn't and stated we much prefer HHI for that time of year especially, but I can see where you and others would include MB. Reasons are it's March so slightly worse weather likely and it's more of a residential area.

Well, since the OP asked for the best South Carolina resort it should be on everyone’s list that answers the OP’s question as presented. Not everyone loves HHI. Many of us love the options that Myrtle Beach offers. While I wouldn’t expect to see it on your list it should be a consideration for anyone looking at top tier SC resorts.

Definitely Ocean Watch in Myrtle Beach.

Lots to do even if it's chilly and not exactly beach weather.
