We got an exchange into Barony and DH will be on crutches for that week (Labor Day week). Its just 3 adults, so we don't need the kiddie stuff. Our reservation states garden view, but with his limited mobility, we are wondering if all the activities are by the main check-in building?

If so, we are thinking about requesting the Live Oak building, but before we do that (it would be an upgrade), we would appreciate input in case they do any activities by the rear buildings....

Thanks,

Norma

They spread activities out all over the resort including at the new pavilion in the gardenside area. If I were you I'd call the resort and ask to speak to the GM (Erac Priester (843) 342-1608) for his advice, mentioning your husband's limitations and confirming that the resort runs golf cart shuttles throughout.

With an II exchange there's a possibility they'll honor your request to be placed closer to the main building in an oceanside unit, because of the special circumstances, without it costing you anything. With a DC Points or cash stay it's an upgrade in the truest sense of the word, costing more.

From our two prior stays at Barony I can tell you that they do activities on both sides of the resort. The side away from the check-in building has the zero-entry pool, splash pad, waterslide, and game area (foosball/ping pong), etc. It also has a firepit that I remember going to do smores at. However, there is an even larger firepit near the main check-in building that could also get used for that activity.

My guess is that you will find more of the 'adult' activites in or near the check-in building. When we were there in April they also had poolside music at the beach front pool. Hope that helps.
