I pay Amazon yearly for Prime membership
Have lots of small items shipped monthly

But not everybody has Prime membership
I think the NFL is being disrespectful to Football Fans when it only Broadcasts on Streaming Prime TV

Especially when it is a PLAYOFF Game between two long term major rivals

I wonder how Sports Bars handle broadcasting the game as well

Bears fan here. Pretty happy about this bc I don’t pay for any traditional network TV.

Regarding bars , what’s the issue ? They will pay to steam it.

Fortunately the Milwaukee & Green Bay local network (FOX) will be able to provide coverage. Elsewhere in the state, including Madison, not so lucky.

I see the game will be broadcast over Fox 32 in Chicago and Fox 6 in Green Bay
That was not coming up in the discussions I was reading last night
That certainly changes my argument

We are college basketball fans and for the NCAA tournament we need multiple streaming services to see a lot of the first and second round games. Even the regular season requires multiple streaming services. It is so annoying and expensive!

Fox 6 is Milwaukee. Fox 11 is Green Bay

People around the state (Wisconsin) are signing up for the "one free month of Amazon Prime" . . . to get the game(s) . . . and will then cancel once they are out of the playoffs (if games continue to be on Prime).

I see this as a made up "problem."

It's estimated 80% of households have Prime. Whatever tiny percentage of the other 20% that must watch the game certainly can find somewhere to watch it if they can't do a free trial or pay $15 (assuming they have a TV that can stream and internet service.)

When it comes to football
There are always made-up problems

Without them ESPN and the pregame talk shows would be not exist

 almost everything the nfl does is disrespectful to FOOTBALL fans, in fact disrespectful to SPORTS fans. The nfl and nba decided a long time ago that the "sports" aspect takes a distant 2nd place to the business, aka entertainment. They also focus on entertaining the MARGINAL fan. The core fans showed a long time ago that they will put up with all kinds of crap and still plunk down their $$$. nfl wants its games to be 2 things:
a) a SPECTACLE
b) as profitable as possible

"Sports" no longer has much to do with it. They constantly change the rules (nba even worse at this) to create the SPECTACLE while reducing the "sporting" aspect of it.

note: I basically stopped watching nba when they constantly allowed James Harden to jump into people and then shoot 3 FTs. Notice how they don't do that anymore? In the last yr, in 2 nba gms of which I watched a few minutes, when such a 3 pt attempt was taken and jumped, the announcers came out and basically said "That woulda been 3 FTs a few yrs ago, but we don't do that anymore."

So, maybe as many people don't get CATV or OTA broadcasts as don't have Prime?
We're in that group. It would be easy to get an OTA antenna and fiddle with it, but really, for how much benefit? I can kill brain cells watching the crap on streamers. (Taylor Sheridan take a bow)

Gotta have Paramount+
Tommy Norris and crew are a MUST in my viewing schedule ;)

For Green Bay area TV watchers
There seems to some confusion as to who is broadcasting Saturday night game
Is it NBC 26 or Fox 11

I think this is by design to milk sports fans. I also see a lot of commentary online about sailing the high seas as it's gotten kinda ridiculous. No idea how that works as I don't care about sports any, but I saw one Youtube video claiming it'd be something like $100+ a month just to have all the streaming services to see all the I think Football games.

Yes. Long time NFL fan here, made lots of money on office pools. No cable tv, no Prime. Haven’t watched in years. I do miss it, but not enough to pay for it. Whatever my smart tv doesn’t give me, I don’t have.

I no longer pay for cable tv
Have not paid for cable tv for several years
I am in an area where I can receive over the air (OTA) TV with a small, inexpensive, stick, antenna
I know not every area is so lucky

No, the games are Saturday, Sunday, Monday......Packers/Bears are Saturday night

You can find the nfl on the sports fire app. Thats what im using in Mexico.

Bill

We are interested in the Patriot game

Bars utilize commercial sports programming packages so they can get access to all the games. They don't have a Firestick on the back of the TV. Bars and other commercial venues pay far higher rates for sports programing.
