Just traded my MGO in HH for a short-stay in Va Beach, now very worried. Trip Advisor reviews are not good. Has anyone stayed at this property recently? Should I try to switch to the Ocean Beach Club? Leaving the 1st.
Thanks!

Reviews On TUG Needed For Virginia Beach Resorts

Travelmom64,

I lived in Virginia Beach, VA from 1988 through 1997 and I remember what is now called Beach Quarters @ The Clarion Resort; but never stayed there and unfortunately too much has no doubt changed over the years for comment.

As you know here on TUG we have a Review section and I just wanted to stop by your thread and encourage you to provide a review of your stay regardless of which Resort you end up confirming.

As of now the choices at Virginia Beach, VA are several; but only three of the resorts have had relatively recent reviews.

# 49 Villas @ The Boardwalk (TRW) has a review in place.
# 105 Ocean Beach Club (OCB) has a review in place.
# 126 The Four Sails (RCI # 1715) has a review in place.

You will get a special credit from TUG if you review any of the Resorts identified as in need of a review. They include:

The following resorts in Virginia Beach need updated reviews:

# 67 Turtle Cay (TTL)
# 95 The Colony (RCI # 0015)
# 128 Beach Quarters @ The Clarion Resort (BQT)
# 165 Ocean Key Resorts (RCI # 2295)
# 168 Ocean Sands (RCI # 5361)
# 183 Barclay Towers (RCI # 1407)
# 190 The Atrium Resort (RCI # 3657)

After reading the reviews for the Villas at the Boardwalk and Ocean Club, I guess I will take my chances. At least my unit is oceanfront and will be larger than the studios I would likely get at the other two. We always stay around 32nd, at the Residence Inn or Hilton, so it looks like a lot of walking is in order to get to all my favorite spots! As long as the unit is clean and fairly maintained....:ponder:
Thanks! I will post a review!

while i have never stayed at the resort you are inquiring about, i have been to VA BEACH and do not like the location of the resort.. I like the location of the 4 sails better.. more in the middle of everything. that's just my opinion.

I don't know about that resort but we have stayed at Ocean Sands twice. The first time was pretty terrible. They were jack hammering the facade off the front of the building so we were woken early each day and the noise continued until evening! The room wasn't very comfortable or nice.

We stayed a second time last summer in a renovated room/suite. I had read to ask for a room on the one of the 1st three floors so we would get a renovated room. It was a nice one bedroom and was nicely set up. The only downside was the pull-out couch. It was extremely uncomfortable. Otherwise our experience last summer was good.

Good luck!

Also- the staff was wonderful when my mother was injured. They were very helpful and kind.
