Hi there
My parents have owned a week at Vistana Beach Club for many years but now due to their advancing years and medical problems, they can no longer travel to the USA & utilise their week. They would like to sell the week or if necessary, deed it back. Can anyone give me some advice on how best to do this? They tried writing to the owners association & have not got anywhere with that.

Thanks very much
Audrey

You, or they, are welcome to give it away (free) on the Bargain section of this site. If you join as a TUG member (cheap!), you can run ads for sale in the Marketplace. You may want to contact the Member Services or Member Accounting division of the timeshare to understand what paperwork and processes are required to transfer ownership so that you are ready for action when you find a new owner.

There are TUG members who can help with the transfer/filing, if needed.

Do avoid paying an agency a large fee to "take it from you." Most of these offers are scams. They'll take your money and, at the end of the day, you are still stuck with the timeshare.

Good luck!

How do we go about actually completing the sale if we go down the ebay route? Are we better using a company to do that for us? ( I see a seller tochoa25 sold one there the other day for $75) We really know nothing about this at all!

The ebay resellers make their money by charging owners a high upfront fee to give away their timeshares. And you may pay them, and then find out that they can't find anyone to take it

It is easy to give away your timeshare yourself for nearly free, because you don't have to know how to do the title transfer - you use a timeshare title company and they handle all of the details.

Here is a detailed explanation of how to give it away on TUG: http://tugbbs.com/forums/index.php?threads/how-can-i-give-away-my-timeshare-on-tug.132509/
