Hi,
Over the last year I've become generally familiar with how II works. I've deposited weeks and made a successful exchange. However, I'd like to do the following and can't seem to figure out how to do it (if possible).

- Create a search to exchange one of my weeks for another in a different location and basically have it continuously be present until a potential exchange becomes available.

I basically want to get a notification that I can come back and decide if I want to do the exchange or not based on specific property / dates that the match shows. Any thoughts on how to do this?

Thanks in advance!

Unless I'm missing something, it sounds as though you're describing placing an ongoing search. It's very simple to do - just log in and click on Exchanges/My Units and then select the unit you want to use, and click on Place Request. It will then walk you through the process, asking for number of travelers etc. and then the dates and locations where you'd like to exchange into. (This assumes you've already deposited your week.)

You will get an email from II when a match is made. However, note that they only give you 24 hours from the time they sent that email for you to cancel, so you should only request resorts that you really want.

There is no way to do exactly what you ask. As stated, you can create an ongoing search but not one that gives you the ability to wait to opt in when it becomes available. So you'd need to limit the search to resorts and dates that you actually want.

I have never done it, but I believe if you call in, they can limit check in days instead of the "starting with Thursday" option for online requests.

They can and will limit your search to specific check-in days, if you talk to them. I have done this twice.

Got it, thanks for confirming what I thought, which is I have a short time window to opt out. Can you have multiple searches at once?

You can only have one search going for one deposit or unit. However, you can search as many resorts and dates as you want with that one search. You can have another search going with another deposit or unit as well.

Quick follow-up question on this. Does II continue to search right up until the day of your request? For instance, if I have an ongoing request from 6/1 to 7/9, will the system continue to search right up through 7/9?
