Baseball playoffs

So what happened last night? I didn't watch the game but it seemed that everyone thought game one would be Toronto's gimme game? Seattle coming off a 15 inning game with only one day of rest and their pitcher on only three. Toronto's bats better wake up. Though they do say that good pitching always beats good hitting

The game started ok, with Springer hitting a home run in the 1st inning but it all went downhill from there. I agree, you'd think it was the Jays who just played the marathon game. Maybe they were a little cocky thinking they could walk all over the tired Mariners, I dont know. They had quite a few hits but the balls went up instead of out so they were all caught. Schneider pulled Gausman in the 6th and he had been doing a decent job until then, allowing 1 run (I think it was) to make the game tied, but also walked a few players. The Mariners took the lead in the 6th off the reliever and the Jays just couldnt catch up. Trey Yesavage starts tonight, hopefully he is as good as he was last time.

Stick a fork in the Jays -they're done! I can see them getting swept.

That's the way to do it. Interesting pitching matchup tomorrow. If the Jays get August Max Scherzer the series will be tied, but if they get September Max Scherzer they'll be down 3-1.

And Castillo beat the Jays in the playoffs last time these two teams faced each other, but the Jays hit him well earlier this year. I think tomorrow could be a high scoring affair.

Oh Man! Broken hearts all over Seattle last night. Jays get revenge.

I hoping Ms snap back tonight.

The games can only be seen on pay per view in Seattle (not selling out the stadium) so had to listen on radio. Game 2 was televised on network broadcast though.

Us guys with antennas must be a dying breed, I only get about a dozen channels.

Playoff games not sold out? How is that? I saw a headline earlier (can't find the article again) saying that Canadian Blue Jay's fans were being priced out of games in Seattle. How can that be if there are empty seats?

I hadn't even looked as I assumed it would be impossible. But there are regular seats available from the team. They start at about $500 USD+tax though.

Tbh I hadn't realized tickets were that available. I probably would have gone to yesterday's game, but I can't fly out now as I have work stuff I can't miss on Friday.

This series is going six games.

That's an interesting question. If you treat each game as a coin flip (and in a CS baseball game that's probably pretty close, as both teams are good or they wouldn't be there), then the odds are as follows:

5 game series: 25%
6 game series: 37.5%
7 game series: 37.5%

Yes! Another win for the Jays! Series now tied.
