Trading into this resort and wondering what is the best building to be in for view purposes?

Susan

You will most likely get a garden view unit in your exchange if you are not a Marriott owner and you will get a pool view. There are only two buildings that have an ocean front view and you are very unlikely to get them. There is a resort map on the MVCI website.

About the only view at Barony would be if you were in an ocean front unit. Sort of a tough thing to get if you're there on an exchange. We are multiple week Marriott owners and were in a 2nd floor ocean view unit. Ocean view is more a lable than an actual description of the view. There was no way we could see any part of the ocean from that particular unit. Even if we'd have been on a higher floor, seeing any part of the ocean wasn't a possibility.

Still, I'd have no problems exchanging back into this resort. The resort grounds were very nice, the location was good, the beach is a wide expance of hard pack sand. The units were large and comfortable. Over all it was a very relaxing experience.

This was our view for the week. We were in the Live Oak building.

Here's a view of the resort from the beach. As you can see, there aren't a lot of units that are going to have much of a view of the beach.

This is a picture of the Garden Villa's. They all have a pool view as far as I remember. While they are further away from the beach, I didn't feel it was that much further of a walk. Yes I'd prefer to be in what's listed as an ocean view villa but, if I were to be assigned a garden villa, I wouldn't be crushed either.

Wow! Nice pictures! Thanks for posting that.

So true about the view. That property is so densely foliated that even the units that were sold as ocean view don't have the greatest ocean view. If you are trading into Barony, you will get the view category of what was deposited. It is a beautiful property and no matter the view, you will have a great time!

The garden views at this resort are breathe taking. There are some photo's area of the sandy beach and of the ocean for some great family photo's opportunities.

Enjoy your week on the island.

I have stayed in the front 4 building and also the garden units and enjoyed both. Love Barony! Will be back there this May.

Good for you. We own there and will be there Labor Day week.. Bobcat

We are headed to Barony 4/3-4/10 GardenView. We really can't wait. We will be driving from upstate NY and if I've paid attention everyone suggests bringing bikes, chairs, umbrella, the standard TS kitchen supplies, and golf clubs. Did I forget anything? We haven't golfed in the past 3 years and would appreciate suggestions re: easier courses for us to get started with. We don't want to frustrate ourselves or the golfers behind us. Also any suggestions for lessons or golf school.

Thanks,
Deb
