Just returned last night from our trip to Westin St John. Everything is still beautiful on island and I once again am glad that we decided to purchase here. St Thomas, and therefore St John, suffered a major power outage of over 24 hours, but the Westin had power due to the generator. We didn't even realize there was an outage until we went to dinner in town.

I attended an owners' update and received $125 in Sand Dollars. Basically, no good answers to any of my questions regarding the assessment and the board. They will "check into it and email me", although I'm not holding my breath. I think I'll will email them later in the week with a written list of questions and see if that gets any response.

Bay Vista buildings 24 and 25 are 65% sold out and sales will start on buildings 26 and 27 when the other buildings are 80% sold out. They reported a slight slow down in sales, but are still selling "$1-2M in inventory" every month. There are some discussions of turning the "lower hillside buildings" (20-23) into "fractional ownerships" sometime in the distant future.

There are no private grills for the Bay Vista units; there are shared grills much like the area that exists in the upper Virgin Grand units. There is still no parking for the Bay Vista units nor is any really planned; the construction parking lot is likely to remain that for several years.

If any of you have any further questions, please feel free to email me.

Renovations

I know some of the pool villas are being renovated. We were in 4414 and 4415 next door was gutted. We were told 4414 was "newly renovated" but they must only have meant the furnishings because the bathrooms were not in good shape. The half bath had cigarette burns on the tiles. Still, we were grateful they put us in any pool villa.

Another interesting thing to note, I was told that the only reason we were able to get moved into the pool villa was that the owner called to say he wasn't coming. Apparently, there are a lot of "no shows" which goes a long way toward explaining why the units can seem so empty, but we are being told they are "full."
