Just spent a week at this new resort in a 4 bedroom unit. I exchanged in about a year ago through II with a SDO lock-off as a trade. There were no reviews on TUG and almost none on TripAdvisor at the time so I just took a chance. I intend to write a full review later but did want to give a brief one here for now.
The resort is nothing special. It is located on hwy192 just beyond Orange Lake Resort with easy back road access to Disney and easy access to grocery shopping nearby. The furnishings are nice and unit layout is roomy but there are several little things that are lacking. Other than a nice sized but otherwise ordinary pool, there is nothing that makes this place a "resort." There are no grounds, just a parking lot with a row of 4 or 5 story units. There are no barbeques but there is a nice little deli/mini-mart. The kitchens are lovely but lack a few very basic supplies like potholders and a sponge or dishcloth. We had no problem at all with ants or other bugs. The unit was very clean and we received a midweek tidy service. Staff were all very pleasant. We noticed that most folks were gone by 8am each day. If you only plan to use the unit for sleeping, Lighthouse Key would be an adequate choice. If you would be spending any days lazing around, I would choose another resort with more pleasant surroundings and more amenities to offer. It served our purposes just fine but with all the choices in the Orlando area we would choose another place next time rather than return to Lighthouse Key.
