Hello all. Our first grand baby was born last week. We are going to Waiohai in August as a family. Our grandson will be 5 months old. It just occurred to me that we will need a pack and play or port o crib and possibly a high chair. Are these available at Waiohai? We will bring the stroller and have reserved the carseat with the car.

On a side note, we are completely smitten with our grandson. Words can not express the emotions and love we feel.

Lisa I cannot tell you anything about Waiohai but congratulations on the birth of your grandson. It is the best and it gets better with each passing day.

Yes- Pack N Play style portacribs and highchair (upright molded plastic with removable tray) are avaialable at Waiohai, as at all MVC resorts we've stayed.

You can attach a request to your reservation ahead of time, and typically the items will be in the room at check-in.

The parents may consider traveling with their own carseat, at that age the baby will probably still be in an infant-style seat (portable, and wonderful for eating out with sleeping baby!) and in our experience rental agencies stock only the larger convertible (ie stays in the car) style seat.

Enjoy the trip, we visited Waihai with our (then) 3 mos old and it was a wonderful trip...although part of that may have been leaving the 5yr and 3yr old brothers at home with Nana and Papa :)

Congratulations on your family's new addition!

Agree with bringing the infant seat (the kind that is attached to the base). It's safer and we have always used them as doubling for keeping a baby that age upright for feeding. At 5 months the pediatrician may or may not have baby started on solids ( some recommend starting at 4 months some at 6 months.) So a high chair may or may not be necessary.

Great suggestions, we will follow your advice. Thank you :)
