Avis / Budget car rental code

I like AutoSlash. Many times they have come up with cheaper rates. But for some reason this time around, for us, Costco has been better. Maybe as it gets closer to the date of the rental AutoSlash will come up with lower rates.

I book with both and consider them reliable. I always reserve with whichever is less expensive. I don’t care if I need to prepay or not as long as it’s with a reliable vendor such as these.

You can cancel a pre-pay. Is there a penalty for canceling ? I think there is with Avis.

Bill

I canceled an Autoslash reservation a month or two ago (I don’t think it was Avis) and received a full refund a few days later. I canceled because Autoslash had the same dates available for less than I had originally purchased, so I simply canceled and then bought again. Autoslash doesn’t keep checking your rate when you book with them as they do with others for obvious reasons.

Even if they refund, I still don't like to do prepays when I don't have to.

And I'm confused when you say Autoslash doesn't keep checking your rate when you book with them. They do, you just have to register it with them again. They don't automatically keep checking. I've done that many times in the past.

They don’t seem to check those reservations booked direct from them. Do you see otherwise?

When I have booked through AutoSlash the reservation is made with a car rental company, like Avis. I then go to the AutoSlash tracking tab and enter the Avis (or whoever) name, the reservation number, the $$ for the reservation and the date of pick up. Then AutoSlash tracks it. They will track no matter who the reservation is made through as long as you have those pieces of information. So yes, I do know (or see) otherwise). As I said in an earlier post I have done this many times. Made the reservation with AutoSlash, then have them track it.

Ah, I see. I’ve also booked many, many times with Autoslash. But I just assumed they would automatically track a reservation I made thru their service, and you’ve confirmed that doesn’t work that way.
