On our confirmation it says sleeps 2 and a King Size Bed. Is there a sleeper sofa so that two non couple people could use it and not have to sleep in the same bed?

No. If it says it sleeps two then it is the King studio. The floor plan with the King bed has no sofa on it.

Call up the resort and ask them for 2 queen size beds, instead of the king bed!
That's what I did, I call once about 2 weeks before and around 9:30 the day of the reservation.

No sofas in a studio

There are two kinds of studios at Avenue Plaza, some have 1 king bed and some have 2 queen beds, and you cant choose one or the other when making a reservation, In spite of what it says on the confirm they will allow 4 to a room, even the studios with one king

They assign the rooms on a first come first serve basis, at the resort, at check in

The best you can do is to to call to request the room you want. If you want to know who to ask for to have the best shot of getting what you want pm me.

I make a lot of reservations at this place and I advise my guests to pack an air mattress just to be sure they dont have to sleep directly
on the floor.

You can park in the streets, I usually park about 3 blocks away on the south side of St Charles. Note: this is not during Mardi Gras!

I waled all over that neighborhood when I was there for Mardi Gras, and I was surprised. Parking on the street would have been easy
