I saw the northern lights during the historic solar storm. I was surprised by how misleading the photos are.

The northern lights can appear in the sky above places like San Francisco or New York. They're beautiful, but don't expect what you see in photos.

This year, the Northern Lights, have made it to Washington State many times. Usually while I'm asleep is the problem. Yesterday they showed up again but I missed it. Science says it's because of the sun's magnetic field flipping causing intense solar activity at the end of an eleven year cycle. If that's right, wouldn't we notice this every eleven years ? Science also says the Earth's magnetic field has diminished and the magnetic poles are moving a bit faster.

Is anyone else seeing the Northern Lights in the lower USA. I read they have made it all the way to Florida last May.
