Aulani - American Idol

Good Afternoon

Does anyone have any experience staying at Aulani while American Idol is "taping" their show - typically in January. We are planning for January - February 2027 and wondering if we should avoid booking when they are taping the show, or is it just minor inconveniences and some loud music for a couple of days. Any experiences would be great.

They will be there Jan 25-31, 2026. From what I just read, if you are not into AI and have tickets, you will probably be in hell. No schedule has been released for 2027, though it seems it is usually near the end of January.
 
We were at Aulani in early Feb of 2024 just as AI was wrapping up (we arrived the day after the last filming day) and it was definitely annoying as they were still pulling down all the seating and stages. It didn't help that we were in Waianae in an Oceanview villa facing west...which put us above AI's staging area where trucks were parked then running while being loaded.
