At WSJ this week

The drive from STT-Redhook is not fun. Yes - you can save money by renting on STT and driving to Redhook, and taking the car-ferry over. Heck - you can take the public taxi/ferry and save money - if that is your purpose. (I have done this...). Heck - you don't even need a car on STJ if you just want to go to the north-side beaches and Cruz Bay.

Westin offers a short taxi ride to Crown Bay then the Westin ferry to the Westin dock where you are welcomed with punch (rum) and a shuttle to your unit and your luggage is delivered.

To each his own - but after experiencing both rides - We take the Westin Ferry - even with the additional cost. Especially if you have never been on these islands - driving is nuts and one must be a little nuts to drive (that is why I always do - Stay Left! and no screaming "Watch Out!").
