At St. Kitts this week

It looks like none of the condos will be oceanfront since the description says that they overlook the golf course...unless they are planning to expand to the right (looking from the beach) of the hotel/TS.

Yes, the property that the condos and addl vacation club villas will be on is on the right side of the property if you stand facing the hotel with you back to the ocean.
The back end of the property (near the road) is currently occupied by a abandoned condo project that was never finished. Evidently Marriott is trying to track down people who purchased these condos to get them to turn title to Marriott and is having a hard time due to the not so efficient record keeping in the Deeds office.

KathyPet...I do not see how they will be ocean front. The website says "Our condominiums are competitively priced, with ocean views and overlooking the 18-hole championship Royal St. Kitts Golf Club". The map does not reference the right side of the hotel/TS complex.

I know that that site is vacant so maybe in the future they will expand?

We love St. Kitts and hope that the condo development will not make it too crowded

I am glad to hear that you love St. Kitts. We have fallen in love with the island and the resort and are trying to negotiate a 2 Br purchase after having been there in 08 and now a second time. We have been to St. Thomas and Aruba and love St. Kitts most of all. The property is incredibly beautiful and the beautiful landscaping reminds me a lot of Grand Ocean. So much space and the property does not feel crowded and overrun with people probably due to the villa lay out vs the high rises in Aruba. We also like the laid back atmosphere of the island and the friendliness of the people there. They are seem to be really happy that you are there. Not like some of the islands where the people you run into are rude and generally unpleasant. I hope that St. Kitts stays the way it is and does not become another Nassau or St. Thomas.

I will be there in April. Can you give me some room sudgestions? There will be 2 couples traveling with no kids. Have a great time!!

From what I can see the best buildings would be Jessup House, Westbury House, Palmetto House or Trinity House as they would give you direct or a partial ocean view. Try to get 2nd or 3rd floor. Just remember that there are no elevators so suitcases have to be taken up the stairs.

We thank you for your assistance. We are a very active couple and love exploring, scuba, sailing ect. any recommendations? Are there guys walking up and down the beach offering discount tours or that sort of thing? We found that in Aruba there were a couple of guys offering discounts.

No one on the beach offering discount coupons that I saw. Too be frank that is typical of the sort of thing that occurs on most of the other islands that you don't have to deal with on St. Kitts. I don't want to be harrassed with that sort of thing and you won't be on St. Kitts. Activities include Snorkeling, sailing, scuba, mountain bikes tours, rain forest tours. The activities desk at the hotel has binders with inforrmation on activities you can select from. Prices seem high to me (e.g a full day catamaran sail to Nevis including snorkeling, lunch, unlimited drinks and beach time on Nevis was $104.00 pp). Two restaurants that we ate at that I recommend are CIAO (Italian, no ambiance but good food, 10 minute walk from the Marriott) and Serendipity (in downtown Basseterre, open air dining on a terrace overlooking the harbor, white linen tableclothes, extensive menu, wonderful food and teriffic service). This restaurant is a real find!
