How's the humidity level? We went in Feb and really liked it a lot. Very laid back not at all like Aruba or St. Thomas. One hint: Make sure you leave lots of time to depart. The security at their airport is the slowest I have ever seen.

It is hot and seems quite humid. But the place is empty. Feels like a private beach. There is a nice breeze at the beach so it is quite comfortable sitting there. I think the pool area might be too hot unless in the water.

And yes - nothing like Aruba.

We were there last Feb and going again in Jan. Love it there...like Aruba was 20 years ago!

If you do a sales presentation can you post the current prices? Last year they were selling occupancy for 2010.

Sounds like it's an adult getaway location versus a family location for kids.

Is there alot of activities at night (nightlife)??

Was going to do the sales presentation, but cancelled. Said we couldn't get the 15000 MR points because we had done another sales presentation in the last six months, so we could get the $100 to spend here. I only wanted the points and know I am not buying, so we decided to spend the 90 minutes on the beach.

Hi Doug
Hope you folks are having a great time! We bought St Kitts in 2006 when it first became available, have not gotten there yet we will eventually. I have found this site to full of hardcore St Kitts folks who offer up some great info.

How's the cigar bar in the hotel, I love to enjoy a good cigar and some rum!!!
Enjoy,
Dan O

Thought about exchanging to St. Kitts for next summer, but the flight from Los Angeles is about $1K and I have a family of five. I might as well fly to Maui for the same price. Has the airfaire to St. Kitts always been so high?

Actually the prices from the east coat are not too bad. From Boston on AA$450 each in January via Miami and we are able to upgrade.

Great resort -- with a caution for the presentation

Was going to do the sales presentation, but cancelled. Said we couldn't get the 15000 MR points because we had done another sales presentation in the last six months, so we could get the $100 to spend here. I only wanted the points and know I am not buying, so we decided to spend the 90 minutes on the beach.

We were in St. Kitts at the end of July and had a great time. There were activities for kids, but it's geared more toward adults (and possibly teens).

Just a quick tip on the presentation -- the concierge told us that we could use the $100 toward our bill, so we did the presentation late in the week. When we arrived we were told that it had to be used at a point of purchase -- this is unlike every Marriott we've been to. We took the points instead.

I know I saw a sign for a cigar bar, but as a non-smoker, I didn't pay much attention.

Elally:

Great pictures!!!! On what side of the road to people drive on St. Kitts? American or British?

Doug and Elally--did you eat out every night? What kind of restaurants? Did you bring in food or purchase it there? How crowded was the resort?

Drive on the left.

Almost no food at the shop here - a big disappointment. And the IGA market was pretty poor. So we are eating out most meals. I would say be prepared to spend a LOT on meals here.

We bought travel insurance from II in case there was a hurricane. Luckily for us the weather was fine.

You can read more than I could ever write at TripAdvisor.com. Since the timeshare shares facilities with the resort, the only thing on the reviews that would not apply are the room descriptions. I will say the timeshare units are excellent - probably the largest I have seen from Marriott. The resort I would describe as a 3 star that wants to be a 4 star but doesn't quite get it.

How does St Kitts compare to Hawaii - say Maui and Ko Olina.
