Take out only for us, for probably quite awhile.
Same for us. Even at that, take-out will be on a nearly emergency basis only.

How do you square that with people who don't have that choice? Those people deserve to have their needs be part of the conversation.
When the shut down started we wanted to support the local businesses and restaurants. So we started doing take out. We usually do at least two dinners and one breakfast each week. Some weeks we do lunch as well. We also tip more than we would for dine in.Same for us. Even at that, take-out will be on a nearly emergency basis only.
The gym I go to opened up on Monday. I have no plans to go back in the near future. They require you to wear a mask when you enter, but not when you are exercising. That's good, because I cannot exercise wearing a mask. However, I do not want to be in an environment with other people who are sweating, coughing, drooling (yes some people do when working out) and whatever else if they are not masked. So, I won't go back. I'll continue to workout at the park with my trainer. When the weather isn't good enough to do that I will probably just exercise at home until I feel more comfortable about the gym.The restrictions on the gyms and masks are interesting to me as I consider myself to be a gym junkie. I'm glad they are not required for people "actively exercising". I can say without hesitation that I would quit any gym that required a mask while exercising.....despite the "high risk" of that environment. I belong to 2 gyms. One of the two is strictly class based. We are limited to 6 in a class now (normally it's maxxed at 24). We are assigned a little taped in area on the floor during class with all of our equipment within that perimeter that is "ours" for the class. So no stepping in /out of our taped area. It's a strange new other world. The coach stands in his / her area, like a penalty box in hockey.
I would say that our area has a high population wearing masks. Just not doing that great with social distancing in the places that I mentioned. People are people and they are going to do what they are going to do. I will do whatever I need to do to help others stay safe. I'm not a big fan of my mask but I don't leave home without it. It's the right thing to do.I thought this was interesting because in one of the Hawaii threads, someone commented that it seemed like there was high compliance re: mask wearing in So Cal. I guess not.
VA and NC had very similar case counts for most of April and May (excluding the nearest DC areas, where their count was higher.) We "re-opened" around the same time. They instituted a mandatory mask requirement at the end of May. Now, NC has *way higher* case rates and hospitalization rates (really, a much more crucial stat to track) than VA. That's a pretty compelling difference.
People were predicting that the mass protests would mean case spikes, but, as it has been two plus weeks since the first protests, that's not come to fruition. Researchers have examined the footage and determined that the high percentage of mask wearing + being outside were high mitigating factors against spread.
It seems the US chose the "worst of all worlds" scenarios--high economic disruption and a high morbidity rate. *sigh*
Me either! The gym will be the last place I go. We are blessed with beautiful weather and a lot of open space. Plenty of places to exercise. Plus there's the crazy climbing wall in my garage lol.The gym I go to opened up on Monday. I have no plans to go back in the near future. Currently there are no classes allowed in New Mexico.
I'm lucky in that my trainer, who has gone back to the gym, is still willing to work at the park with her clients who don't feel comfortable going back to the gym. She told me that since we were the ones who stuck with her during the shut down she's going to do what we want.Me either! The gym will be the last place I go. On a similar topic, California is now mandating wearing a mask. Check your news source for the info.

I saw that, and am happy about it. In San Jose Ca where i live, mask wearing is prevalent. People without masks are the exception..

Colorado only has a state-wide "recommendation" for masks, but our county has had an order in place for the past month to wear masks inside any business / public building. At restaurants, you need to wear a mask anytime you are not at your table (which are spaced out). I would say that there is at least 90% compliance around here. No surprise that our county's CV-19 rates are much lower than all surrounding counties. In fact, we are one of the lowest in the state.Good, I am in California. Glad mask wearing is now mandatory. We need a clear message and clear mandates since people do not seem to be following them as SIP was lifted.
