Hey guys - not sure if anyone has any experience with this but I know most of Aruba Surf Club is deeded weeks. They will only be available to book if someone elects abound. From your experience - has anyone noticed if it's easier to get Aruba Surf Club by religiously checking Abound, or is it more likely via interval exchange? Just looking for a week in a 2 bedroom during unfortunately peak times (either President's weekend, Spring break, Last week of February, or June) so I do understand it'll be a rough go regardless.

Thanks ahead

You can also get added to the wait list in Abound for the weeks you desire (they will capture the points needed for the highest week requested in your wait list). Its been reported that MVC can also snatch weeks from Interval to fill Abound requests, which is likely how many of the wait lists get filled. I have had good luck booking Aruba Surf with points, either booking directly when the booking window opens for my desired date, or by waitlisting. I also never see much (if anything) loaded in Abound for Aruba at 13 months, so I have always snatched my resys there when the 12 month window opens.

So when you call and do the waitlist they deduct the points immediately upon getting on the waitlist or once they find an opening? I'm 2 days from the 12 month window right now so fingers crossed something pops up bc the 13 month window had nothing!

Yes, they take the points immediately for the highest week wait listed.

Make sure you use the “When can I book” tool on the MVC site. Usually the 12 month window opens on Fridays. And make sure you are on, ready to go at 9am sharp, Eastern time.

Week 7 & 14 are event weeks plus week 8 will be in very high demand. I think the chances of getting those through II are very low but if you have a deposit to try with, there is no reason not to. Even if you get wha you want on points it may work out better IF you get an exchange, it'd certainly be "cheaper". I'd add Ocean Club to any option as well.

Can only wait list at 12 months and as noted, they will hold the points for the highest option you chose. While I know there is some options for a broader wait list, I'm am not sure how broad it can be. The question would be where one waitlist could cover everything including both resorts, multiple weeks and multiple view types. Then keep looking online if needed because hey don't hold cancelations or new deposits for the wait list.

Also realize that enrolled owners have until September 30th or October 31st of this year to actually elect their 2027 use for Club Points. That means that availability can dribble in as owners elect weeks for points. This is another vote for why waitlist can be important.
