Heading to aruba on 8/19 (sunday). Are the food markets open on Sundays? Would need to do my food shopping. If not, where can we have a reasonable meal on arrival date and the then Monday for Breakfast.

Also, celebrating my bday on the 21st. Near Marriott which would be a nice "on the beach" restaurant to book for that date.

thanks

Aruba question

Hi,

You can have an excellent diner at the Mariott's beach itself, I just forgot the name of the restaurant. At the market place you can get your some small items for your monday breakfast. You can even order this online. There is a supermarket across the resort and in Oranje stad. You will enjoy the resort and Aruba.
Bye the way, Hi to everybody, I am a newby as you all can see. Great site with lot of information, Thanks to all of you,

Henk

People's idea of "reasonable" varies. We have been to Aruba several times (both Hotel and Surf Club) and usually on the day of arrival have dinner at either Champion's Sports Bar - located in the Ocean Club, or Tony Roma's, a short walk away - basically across the street from the Holiday Inn, which is next to Surf Club. After a day of travelling, these types of places are what we prefer.

Our favorite supermarket is Ling & Sons (they have a website) and is only open to 1 p.m. on Sundays. We save the grocery shopping for Monday instead.

Aruba Surf Club 3 bedroom units

Going to the Surf Club in September. Do all of the 3 bedroom units face the Ocean view?

I belive that Ling and Sons will deliver to your resort. I will try to arrange this for my September visit and let you know how it works out.

Lings and Sons does close early on Sunday. We felt the food at the Marriott pool side was expensive for what you got. You are really close to the High Rise area where there are a lot of restaurants. There is a Sabarro and some other $ places along with some more expensive ones. There is a Wendy's and Taco Bell not too far from the resort if you have a car if that is what you are talking about. Also, in the Marriotts, there are places where you can get light salads, sandwiches and ice cream. It is in the marketplace at Surf Club, near the shopping in Ocean club(I believe) and just inside the lobby near the casino at the Marriott Resort. You have also got Moomba's on the beach next door. (they have a discount with the Aruba discount card)

I am jealous. We really want to go back just have too much planned for now. Have a great time!

I had a very good meal at the open air restuarant that is right there at the pier. Might go down and see if you can reserve a table there for the sunset.

aruba question

many thanks for all your help. We will leave the food shopping for monday after breakfast :)

Simply Fish was very nice- you are literally on the beach, so close to the water that your feet are just inches from getting wet- it's beautiful to sit and have dinner with the sunset- Janis
