Arrived at Frenchman's Cove

We also are going to have to wait until 2013, its Aruba/June this year for us.

2010 was our first time going for 2 weeks and it was heaven, I can't even imagine how wonderful 3 weeks would be. We didn't go in 2011 since we went to Europe so we are having major withdrawal....Summer 2013 is to far away...
 
The chairs are reserved for Jan 6-19 next year and I am hoping to add a couple of exchanges. We have been Jan and Feb. Both were great.:whoopie:
 
To Cove or not to Cove

Two more weeks and we start our two weeks. 4th year in a row. 1st year as guest of my brother-in-law then loved it so much we went the developer's dollars. I was in the Air Force and flew all over the world, even lived outside of Sydney Aus for three years. The Cove is just what I wanted in a relaxing place to get my mind back in sync. I'm still working and will be for several years but the Cove will be a part of nearly every year. I just wish I could find a cheaper way to get there. Maybe a tramp steamer out of New Orleans. Or my own Sail boat. Both are dreams but what the heck, dreaming is what I do a lot of by the pool. 24 Feb to 10 March.. See you there. I'll be wearing the Tilly hat and sitting in the shade by the pool. Send me a personal note if you are going to be there at the same time.:hi:

We own at Frenchman's Cove, but haven't been there in 3 or 4 years. When we were there, a lot of construction was going on, but we just loved it. I have heard that there is a new building called Tortola, building 3. Would that be a good building to request an exchange into. Does anyone have a site map of the property or have a location (room number) that you would recommend?
 
Those folks are not on the top floor right now but they are busy trying to find a way to stay for a long stay next Jan. Our weather is so good here that we can't complain about being home. Hope our chairs aren't lonely.
 
So, is Tortola the newest building on the hill above the pool...by the harbor? Is St. John the building behind the building next to the pool and closest to the road? Are there just the three buildings?
 
Jim...I just saw the link that you sent with all of the pictures. THANK YOU! Oh my gosh, the place has really changed. There are clearly more than three buildings! Tortola is the one right above the fitness center, correct? I am putting in a request for next year at this time. Can't wait.

If you go to the photo link and look at photo DSC-2013 it shows all the bldg's. The one on the far right is Jost van Dyke, the lower center is Virgin Gorda, the upper center is ST John and to the left of the pool is Tortola. They are the only bldg's completed so far. The two bldg's to the far left are not built yet and probably won't be started till 2016 or so.

I've been in every bldg except Virgin Gorda and as long as you get a higher floor the views are great. Actually the only lesser views are the lower floors in ST John and some lower units in Virgin Gorda. Tortola and Jost van Dyke have unobstructed views from any floor.

Your chairs are being well cared for by a nice couple from North Carolina. Seems all you rebels like the north end of the pool.
 
Agreed...one of the great things about MFC, hard to complain abuot the view from anywhere.
 
Thank you for such great information. I am now ready to request my location for next year! Everyone's comments about the stars, beach, views from all the chairs around the pool, etc., have brought back all the memories of why we bought there and how excited I am getting to return to St. Thomas. Wish it wasn't so many months away!!

Hi there,

I was wondering if guests staying at the Frenchman's Cove have access to the facilities (pool/beach) at the Reef hotel? Are they doing wrist bands or towel cards to control use of the facilities?

No worries, you can roam free with no problems. Also at Morningstar which has an awesome beach.

There's a FREE shuttle that takes you from the Cove to the Reef and then to Morningstar and back.

You can also setup a charge account at the Reef/Morningstar and have it charged to your Cove room.
