I have a week reserved @ my home unit, The Resort on Cocoa Beach, for mid-September, 2006. When I made the reservation last fall, I requested "any available week", as I was planning on depositing the week with ICE toward the purchase of an Alaska cruise. Like many of us, I found the ICE website and literature to be very attractive and pretty, but to get the "meat and potatoes", so to speak, when actually calling, is another story!!! Their employees are most pleasant, and very adept at always trying to sell future memberships in to any conversation, but I always hung up the phone not knowing any more concrete information than before I called!!! One thing I did find out, for all of you fellow ICE members, is that your membership must not only be active when you make the travel arrangements, but while you're actually travelling. For example, my "gratis" membership expires in mid-July (NOT planning on renewing, as I don't see the value!!), so I certainly couldn't be sailing through the Inside Passage the day my ICE membership expired!!!
So - my question is, for all of you experienced exchangers - will there be any demand for my unit in mid-September?? I live in the Central Florida area, and know that all kids are back in school by that time. Of course, I could spring for the $35 "change the date" fee that VRI imposes (they manage The Resort on CB), but was kind of looking to go somewhere else this year!!!
Any helpful comments would be appreciated!!! Dave
