some interesting factoids in this report! basically comparing the first 6mo of 2025 to last year

This survey is a summary of selected key metrics that provide an overview of the vacation timeshareindustry in the United States. It is not a comment on any individual company, whose performance mayvary from the information included in this survey. To provide current information on the financialperformance of the vacation timeshare industry, ARDA International Foundation engaged Deloitte &Touche to conduct the six months ended June 30, 2025 survey of U.S. timeshare companies that were inactive sales during the first half of the year. The results herein include data from the period of January2025 to June 2025. The results cover a total of eight responding companies for which six respondentsprovided sales information reporting aggregate net originated sales of approximately $1.73 billion for thequarter ended March 31, 2025, and $1.98 billion for the quarter ended June 30, 2025. Four of theaggregate eight companies who participated in the survey are publicly traded companies, and four of theeight are affiliated with major hospitality brands. Of the four public companies, two companies areconsolidated but report their numbers for the survey separately. The four public companies that providedsales information accounted for 91.2 percent of total net originated sales in Q1 2025 and 91.6 percent inQ2 2025 as reported by the eight survey respondents. The four companies affiliated with major hospitalitybrands account for 91.2 percent of total net originated sales in Q1 2025 and 91.6 percent in Q2 2025.The financial information contained in this survey includes March 31, 2025, QTD (Q1 2025) compared toMarch 31, 2024, QTD (Q1 2024); June 30, 2025, QTD (Q2 2025) compared to June 30, 2024, QTD (Q22024); and June 30, 2025, YTD (H1 2025) compared to June 30, 2024, YTD (H1 2024).

Interesting indeed!

~15% close rate
~15% rescission rate

My observations exactly!
15% Close and Rescind.

So the 'net' close rate is around 12.75% (15% x .85) ... so 1 in 8 tours results in a sale that 'sticks' past the rescission window.

yes, im pretty sure that was the intent, as the only folks who would have the ability to rescind were those who made a purchase during a tour.

15 out of 100 tours end in sales...of those 15, 2.25 rescind! we gotta get that number up!

Do the overall data from the report include resale? After all, resale is still sales. Plus, what I really would like to know is the number of resales vs. developer sales?

ARDA wouldn't have those data.

ARDA wouldn't have those data.
I'm pretty sure ARDA does have that data. They would get this data the same way they get their data on developer sales -- by querying their developer/members. With whom they share this data would be an interesting question.

But I don’t see how these metrics could possibly include resales. How could there be a close rate or even a rescission rate on resale transfers?

Of course not. But there would be data about how many units have been resold on the resale market and what percentage of units are now owned by someone other than the original purchaser.

i highly doubt it, the data seems to come only from a subset of resorts reporting their sales info.

the very first part of the original pdf details where the data came from.
