Wanted to share with TUG users BBB St. Louis' latest consumer warning about Arcx Group International and American Third Century Company:

I was recently contacted to sell my Grand Mayan in Mexico. I have 3 weeks w special priveliges to vacation at upgraded resorts and during elite times. I told the guy (Michael Dunk) under no conditions will I front any money. Everything was going fine...then I was told that they just discovered that I would need some Registry number from Mexico that had to be obtained in person and their legal team was working on a solution. I could also pay a lawyer who was bonded in both countries for international transactions. Was told there was no way around this. They let me stew over this for the weekend. Then Monday I received “Good news” that they came up w a person who could do it for 4800$. I could pay it up front w a guarantee of being reimbursed by the buyer. It was listed in the contract. I almost fell for it. Then saw this forum and was SO disappointed!!! I e mailed him today and told him if he couldn’t do it w out money up front then just don’t contact me again. Told him that it just blew my mind how he could inflict this level of deceit to his fellow man and how appalled I am with this scam. So far have heard nothing back. I am just sick as I was so excited to get this money. Ugh

You hit it on the head. They play on your excitement -- to either get out of owning a timeshare you don't want or to get more money than you thought possible for a timeshare you may actually like.

Glad you saw through it; many do not.

Happy to hear you didn’t fall for it. Many people do which keeps the scammers in “business” for more. After all, if no one fell for it the scammers wouldn’t waste their time trying.

And now that they have your info expect more scammers to contact you in their own attempt to extract money from you.

I am happy to hear that this forum was able to save this person from losing money to ArcX. Since our release, we've heard from a lot of consumers. Thankfully, the overwhelming majority have not been duped by these scammers. However, I have talked with a few who have lost money, including one who claims to have lost over $20K.

it always makes our day when someone finds a specific thread in their searches to discover a scam before becoming a victim!

quite literally the reason TUG exists!
