Which resort is the closest one to the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park?
Is it easy to see the Bighorn Sheep there?

Thanks!

We visited in March 2006 and saw the sheep!

We spent our spring break in San Diego; not in a timeshare, so I can't recommend one. It was about an 80 mile drive to the park on a scenic road. Once inside the park, stop at the nature/ranger center. They will tell you if any sheep have been sighted recently. We took the one mile path back to the palm tree "oasis," this is a somewhat marked trail, but does involve climbing over rocky areas. As luck would have it; we wandered off the beaten path on the way back, and found a herd of the big horn sheep with their young ones! They were not as large as I had envisioned them(they also blend well into this terrain).
I have heard that it is hit or miss on sighting them, so we were fortunate to see them on our only trip there! I did carry a rock in my hand in case we happened upon a large feline resident of this same area. ;) It sure is a beautiful area to see, and worth the drive. Have fun!

Warner Springs is about a 30 minute drive to/from Borrego Hot Springs. That's likely the closest resort...otherwise any in Palm Spings area will put you an hour or so away.

San Diego Country Estates is less than 30 miles to Anza Borrego.

Are you specifically looking for timeshare resorts? There are some resorts that are not timeshare actually in Anza Borrego, one is very nice and I can't recall the name at the moment.

Beautiful area!!!!

We drove up there from Palm Springs last March. It took a little over an hour. We went specifically to have brunch at La Casa del Zorro. It is a very cool resort, not TS though. And we were surprised to find that it was recently sold, so we were wondering if the new owners would be retaining the charm that it always had. The new owners are tied to a nearby upscale real estate development. That worries me at a time like this.
We stay at the Marquis Villas in PS every spring for a week or two. Already booked for two weeks next year

We stayed at San Diego County Estates in January and went to Anza Borrego twice. It was a beautiful drive; the park is beautiful as well.
