We have been to Sedona many times over the years, but never stayed at Los Abrigados. I have a chance to trade into there and have been looking at all of the reviews. I'm a bit confused. It is obvious that it needs an upgrade, but that is not a big problem for us. It seems the reviews (TUG and Tripadviser) are all over the place. Everyone likes the location, but it almost sounds like ther are two resorts, or maybe it is just different expectations (Some complained about not haveing daily maid service. Obviously, not familiar with timeshare resorts.).
Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi neighbor!

We stayed there last May and enjoyed it. I did write a review. My only issue was the daily fee imposed. The only amenity we used was the laundry (washers/dryer were free). We did like the location and updated units are not a huge deal for us. Also I've never stayed at any timeshare resort that had daily maid service.

We toured the facility a month ago, but didn't stay there.

The TS was bought by Diamond Resorts a couple of years ago and I've read that they are slowly upgrading things. Many of the Tripadvisor reports are only so-so.

The location of the place is absolutely great - - you can walk to Tlaquepaque (elite shopping center/art galleries, restaurants, etc.)

The grounds looked very nice. The lobby looked very nice and upscale. But the units may need attention. It is in a very pleasant location.

Thanks for the responses. Sorry I took so long to get back___been busy.

Hi Luanne. Sedona is not a bad drive for us New Mexicans and a beautiful place with lots of things to do.

It turns out that I got a deal to stay at one of the Diamond resorts so we won't be going to Los Abrigatos, but I plan to try it sometime in the future. As almost all the reviews have said, the location could not be better.

Thanks again for responding.

Tom

FYI, II Getaways has some sweet rates for the fall for a few gold-rated TSs. I just picked up two studios fat Sedona Summit or $207 per week for 9/28-10/4/14.
