Anyone used AARP for auto insurance?

I just used their on-line system and got a quote that was quite a jaw dropping savings. Has anyone had to deal with a claim with them? Any comments, pro or con?

Thanks,
Gayle

I also noticed a substantial difference in our quote from AARP in comparison to our current company, but when all was said and done, we went with Traveler's Insurance because we saved a little more on auto, but the difference in our homeowner's insurance was the deciding factor. We saved over $200 a year over Auto Owner's Insurance on our home and about $350 on our cars.

I switched from Safeco to AARP/Hartford about 3 or 4 years ago. Savings on car insurance (Avalon and Pickup) for higher coverage was about $400 a year. Homeowners was about the same and Umbrella policy was about $20 higher. So far we have had one claim which was resolved with one phone call with no increase in rates. I have had no problems with them. YMMV!
