We are booked June 27-July 3rd in a 2 bedroom. We stay there a ton, but haven't since the pandemic started. We're debating whether or not we should go now with how bad Orange County's numbers are. Can anyone tell me how crowded the lazy river has been? Also, Orange County has a mask mandate now and the info on Lakeshore says that you have to wear a mask anytime you are outside of your timeshare unit. Does this include people on tubes in the lazy river? I'd feel safer if it did honestly, but I'm not sure that masks and pools mix. Thanks.

We are here right now and have been here since last week Friday. Pool has been pretty busy about 80 people last weekend. Over the weekday there have been under 40 people at the pool and lazy river. Pool hours are back to normal 7am to 11pm. The o ly hot tub in use is the one by the slides. The other hot tub is closed as they cannot see how many people are in it. They are limiting it to 6 people at one time in the hot tub.

Have not had to wear masks anywhere near the pool or walking around. Though that mandatory mask order goes into effect tonight at 12:01 am.

Will report back about masks in the pool tomorrow or Monday.

I would come here. It has been very relaxing and quiet as villa capacity is 70% of units. Lots of families are here. The JW Marriott pools are closed to Lakeshore guests this weekend due to capacity.

Thank you! 80 people in the pool is a lot. Even 40 people is a lot right now. Are people being good about social distancing? If we go we definitely won't go up to JW at all, not even for Starbucks. I'm eager to hear back about the mask mandate affecting the pool area. I thought it was already in effect as of yesterday but maybe I'm wrong. I'm one county over and we have no mask mandate here. Orange County has had rapidly increasing numbers this past week though so it's good that they have one in place now.

You will be fine at the pool....This is the salient part of the order...

“Masks do not need to be worn when people are able to maintain six feet from others, according to the executive order. Other exemptions include children under 2 years old and people for whom a face covering would cause impairment due to an existing health condition.“

It’s pretty much following the guidelines already set, except that it’s no longer a recommendation, it’s mandated...

We just spent a week there. It was quiet. We did not see too many people in the pool. We did not have any issues in the building. The elevators are marked so that only members of a family should ride together. Hand sanitizer on the bottom floor outside the elevator.

the JW opened the week we were there, but it was a ghost town.

cases are going up. Too many don’t take it seriously.

We are at Cypress Harbour and folks are social distancing. I am wearing a mask when inside the lobby but not outdoors in and around the pools. Chairs are spaced out six feet around the pools (except for family groups - mom, dad, and kids) and there is hand sanitizer available at all gates. We are enjoying the peacefulness - doing carry out for evening meals and watching people boating on the lake from our screened in patio. I got so TIRED of cooking during lockdown.

Yes the pool area is the most crowded I have ever seen it at Lakeshore. I have been here during a few July 4th weeks and it was a lot slower than this week at the pool. I believe the pool crowds can be attributed to WDW not beingn open. Also the other theme parks having a face mask rule, is probably adding to the pool crowds.

No golf cart tides to JW dues to covid concerns.

I think this is exactly it. Usually during the day a good percentage of people are at the parks. The pools and common areas were built with this in mind. Grande Vista has 900 units. That could be several thousand people with all those units filled even half full. Nowhere to go now except hang out at the pool. I am kind of dreading checking in to Grande Vista tomorrow.

Yeah, I’m changing rooms on the 26th. I may head to another resort. Spend the extra money and book vistana villages maybe.

Just got home from a 2 week stay at Harbor Lake, the first week was super quiet! One guest I talked to said the resort was at <25% capacity at that time. Both pools open (Pirate pool opened a couple days after we arrived) and activities resumed that week as well, hot tubs open, sports courts open, mini golf open. Definitely busier this week and last weekend was quite busy. But even with spaced out loungers easy to find chairs. But judging by the cars in parking lot of bld 14&15 I’d guess maybe half full- almost always got a spot close to front and shady too. Pool attendants stayed busy walking around spraying/sanitizing loungers as people left. Glad we left when we did- I’d hate wearing a mask around the resort, although I did anytime I needed to go to a store or pickup takeout.

Are both pools open? And the mini golf? Cypress Harbour is my favorite but we went with Harbor Lake as it seemed to have more things open in early June. Hoping to get back to Cypress Harbor for Thanksgiving! What building do you like best?

Yikes. We go every 4th of July week. This year the week before matched so that's why we're booked the 27th-3rd. If the pool is more crowded than a typical 4th of July week I'm out. The numbers in Florida are getting worse by the day and Lakeshore usually attracts a fair amount of locals (of whom I'd assume I am one since I'm from one county over).

All three pools are open and the mini golf and boats. Playgrounds, gift shop and food areas are closed. We are staying in 63 and it is quiet. Anywhere on the main lake is fine with me.

The last July 4th week we were here, there were less than 35 people at the pool during the day. If that is the amount of people that you are used to at pool, you will most likely encounter higher numbers.

Our view at Cypress Harbour. Plenty of space to social distance. Maybe you can switch from Lakeshore.

Very crowded at the pool today. Lots of people congregating in the pool also.

The marketplace was open with a limited menu yesterday and will supposedly open back up tomorrow. We're going to try the JW tomorrow.

Right now there are approximately 40 people in the zero entry part of the pool. Hopefully that adds perspective.

Wow...we were there for Easter week last year and most of the time there weren't 40 people in the entire pool area.

Yikes. Keep updating me everyone. I really think we are going to stay home. We would have our kids with us and I'd be a wreck if there were that many people congregating.

I don't think I've ever seen 40 people congregating in the zero entry part of the pool unless it was poolside bingo time. That's insane given the current covid stats for FL.

I think if Disney opens, it will be back to normal. Also, Frank said it was a lot quieter on the weekdays, so I'm looking forward to that.

Our week is Sat-Sat but my husband said maybe we should just go out for a few days during the week. Please keep me updated if the pool gets less crowded during the weekdays this week. I'm not sure when Disney is due to open or if they're going to wait due to the rising Orange County numbers.

I think Disney is due to open on July 11 with limited attendance. People will need to reserve park time. The onsite guests will have first opportunity to start reservations tomorrow. There will be no Fastpass as they will be using that space for social distancing.

No one I saw wearing masks at pool today except for the lifeguards.

This morning it was empty at Lakeshore pool. Granted I went at 730am and left at 9am.

But chair hogs where in full force by the time I left. Saw a lady take up 10 chairs with towels and just leave at about 8am. Even the cabanas where occupied by towels at 830am. With so many less chairs available due to covid distancing, there should be a 1hr time limit if unused. Until this trip, chair hogging was not a problem.

We always grab our cabana right when it opens, but we don't just abandon it. The lifeguards usually at least watch the cabanas to make sure they aren't hogged by people who aren't actually there. Keep me updated on the pool crowds please! We think we may just go for some weekdays instead of for the full week. None of us are game to deal with a crowd right now.
