When you’re a subscriber to the NY Times games you are able to get an analysis of your choices including how the “bot” played.

Yes, I see that now. But the BOT was programmed by a person. :)
Cheers!!

OK, soldiers. My first word today was CRANE. Guess what the BOT's favorite starting word is? Yep, it's CRANE.
And then they suggested DEBTS for the second guess (mine was PRIME). Hmmmm. Any others agree with CRANE?

Four. Meh. As most of you know, I generally stay away from the most popular words but today was an exception. I had to find some vowels on my second guess after striking out completely with my starter. Also, 3 and 4 made me crave a Nutter Butter! 🥜 :D

Three. Will miricles not cease. Given what was on line two, it might look like not much chance to move on, but given what had to be the vowel combination at that point, there were only three words that I could think of for line three. Almost always, when I confront a situation like that, I make the wrong choice. Today, I got it right. As I said, it was a miricle.

Muddy and dummy would also have worked for line three.
