I've been using QuickBooks for my business since 1995 but have upgraded only 4 or 5 times. Currently, I have QB Desktop Pro 2018 on Windows 10. A search revealed that the ability to use it on Win 11 is mixed, so I'm wondering if I should find a new program or update to the last nonsubscription version. (I'm avoiding Win 11 as long as possible; don't ask.) I don't do downloads from banks or payroll or any other add-ins. I will not use the online version and avoid subscription software. Basically, I only want to use it for accounting. Do I stick with what I have? Buy a 2021 version (last one without subscription) on ebay? Keep looking for another program--although so far I haven't found one that will import QB files (I can't start over!) and is not subscription based?

Great question. Following. I am in a similar situation on QB 2016 and kicking myself that I did not upgrade to 2021 when it came available. Other owners tell me that the subscription version is not as good plus more expensive.

Good to know I'm not alone! I wish I had upgraded one more time too.

I used Quickbooks years ago. If you don't need features that require yearly updates (like payroll) just use a non-subscription older version

Got sucked into the online version and now saddled with monthly "mainteance fees" :)
