Anyone had this experience in reservation change?

I have a reservation for my stay at HHV Kalia in November. This morning, I found vacancy at Lagoon. So I tried to change my reservation. After I hit the final confirmation button, a message came out. I really did not read it well. It said something like "HGVC is updating the system... Do not change your reservation." I did not mention that my change did not come through, I believe. I have not yet received email to confirm the new reservation and I called up the owner desk and they did not see my change. I just want to know what really happened. If anyone had a similar experience, would you please share it. Mahalo.

Sounds like a fairly common, "server busy" or "time-out" glitch.
It hasn't happened to me on HGVC yet, but occasionally elsewhere.

If you check your reservations online, it won't show a change.
Just try again.

Talent312,

Thanks for your comment. For this time particular, I am thinking Kalia is better option. But Lagoon has been renovated and I still have inclination. I will keep watching the vacancy.

Mahalo.

This happens every night sometime between 12am and 5am roughly. I find it to very annoying because the message doesn't appear until the very end of your reservation change.

That's the way client-server systems work, until you are ready to commit the change the server does not know what you are up to on the client. You just bumped into the system maintenance that locks the reservation database.

Thanks for the further information. That was my first encounter. So I did not really care about the message. I will be careful next time.
