Has anyone ever gotten a copy of their customs declaration? According to the French Consulate's website, I can make a claim for my VAT refund even though now home if I get a copy of my Customs declaration that I turned in when I came back into the US. Don't have a clue how to get that. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

I think you are out of luck.

You likely could have asked for a copy of the stamped declaration when you handed it in, but I don't think there is any filing of the forms in a manner that would allow them to retrieve a copy for you later on.

Assuming you did make a declaration at US Customs when you got back, I would think the starting point would be the Customs office at the airport you returned to.

Try a Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act request with US Customs. There should be an address on their website for submitting these requests. You may even be able to do it online.
