Anyone ever dealt with laman34 on ebay?

Earlier in this thread of messages it became apparent that both accounts are used by a handful of sales reps for VI network. laman34 and 43namal are the same just spelled backwards and forwards.

timeshare closing needs power of attorney???

Hi to all. I recently purchased a cabo san lucas timeshare from 43namal. They are using Timeshare closing services, inc. I have mailed back the docs and now have been sent an e-mail from tcs asking for limited power of attorney to expedite the "numerous documents prepared by the resort that will require notarized signatures". This seems rather dangerous to me. To give a perfect stranger power of attorney. Has anyone else had this experience?

Thanks,
Michelle

Seems like a strange request and hardly necessary. You will need to get your signatures notarized, but I guess I don't understand why THEY need power of attorney. The probably have power of attorney for the owners, who paid them $3,495 to get rid of their timeshare. I don't see why you would need to.

The POA question is a duplicate post. I answered with an example of a resort management co that wanted one from me recently (as clsoing agent). It can be necessary but that is rare.

Is longs as it's limited purposes are spelled out it's fine.

Like them or not as closing company for "pay me to take it" firms, TCS is a very legitimate closing co, see other threads on this.

Thank you

Thank you for your response. I just found this site and am not well versed with my way around yet so that is why the duplicate post. I am glad to hear it is a legitimate request but when you read legal material and are not use to it phrases like, including, but not limited to, it scares you to think if it is not limited than what does it include? I am not worried about the sell, I have purchased many items from ebay and this seller has a 100% reputation. I don't think he would use a closing company that was less. However, this is my very first time buying a timeshare. I have to admit I did mistakenly think that it would be as easy as my book and cosmetic purchases. I love the place though and it is worth a little extra work. How long do you think this will take?

Thanks,
Michelle

If you don't feel comfortable, and it does not write what it limited to, don't give that. I do see TSC make mistake on some of the documents. I will not just let them do it themselves and found there is error and I have to deal with it later. Call resort, with the old owner's contract number (you should have it now) see what is needed. Is this a non-US country resort? Is there some usuage that is coming soon (like use week is next month, or some banked week will need transfer or some points expired at of June)?

It will take a while anyway, most of the work are go through mail. And if it is deed, you need to go through local government first then resort's finacial department (they will need to make sure all fee are current), then resort change owner's name. So may as well have all the required document go through the mail to you anyway.
