Anyone else like snow?

I like it as long as I don't have to go outside in it.

It's great except when it's unexpected. We weren't prepared for the unexpected snowfall in mid-November in France, but thankfully, it was just one day of significant snowfall. This was one of those days where I wished we had stayed at the same hotel another day but instead drove 80+ miles. We only saw two cars stuck on the side of the road. I was impressed with the handling of the Volvo XC60 we rented.

I love it! Except for shoveling it. 🤣

The cold never bothered me much, as I can always wear enough layers to be comfortable in just about any weather.
I enjoy driving on it, but I don't like being around others driving on it (if that make sense).
I love skiing; quite hard to do so w/o snow. ;)
I like watching kids play in it and sledding down the hill behind our CO home.
I am in awe of how quiet it is during/after a good snowfall.

I was supposed to go home to PA today, but decided to stay in VA. Have to go back to work on Monday anyway in D.C., so not a big deal. Looks nasty in PA (from my Ring Cam). It has been snowing here off and one also, but not sticking.

I pretty much echo what PigsDad said except for the part about driving. Unfortunately in this neck of the woods, a centimetre of snow turns the traffic into gridlock.

I love looking at snow from about 400 miles from Coastal Virginia. LOL
How does anyone enjoy driving in snow ? This must be a West of the Mississippi enjoyment thing. LOL
Any snow more 6 inches means everything are shut down/ closed in Coastal Virginia.

I like snow, especially the peace that descends the earth.

Growing up in central Ontario I pretty much had to put up with snow for at least 5 months of the year. It is fun when you area kid, pretty to look at as an adult, but not fun to drive in or to remove from the car and driveway. That's why we try an avoid it now in our retirement. We flew out of Toronto in a total white-out yesterday morning and last evening our neighbour at home told us about 2 feet of snow fell during the day and overnight with more to come tonight and tomorrow. We get lake effect snow off Georgian Bay until it freezes over which can take until February depending on water and air temps.
Our neighbour/friend sent us this cartoon this morning. He is keeping our driveway clear all winter and checking on our house while we are in Belize.

So I sent him this one back;

Nope, I have had my fill of snow. I didn't mind it too much but it wore on me as the years went on. All that work, just to do it all again in a few hours. I never liked to drive in it. I always could handle the cold but right now it's better without both. 🤙🏻🌴🌺

I grew up in New Orleans, so snow was a major treat, and I loved it. Then I went to college in Nashville and learned that it’s beautiful to look at, but it’s a pain to live with.

I love watching football being played in a snowstorm while living in the Sunbelt. :p

Been going for hours. Really pretty when it’s not white out situation. Sure, it’s cold, but that’s what the right gear and layering is for. Too bad there aren’t kids in the neighborhood, I’d love to go help with a snowman.
I love it especially now that I don’t have to drive in it!

Unfortunately New Hampshire’s snow fall has been lacking the past couple of years. We get a big storm here or there and that’s it.

Right now we’re just hoping for the big lake to have ice in so the big activities can go on this year.

Snow is useful for skiing.

Otherwise, where I live the temperature is almost always between 50 and 75.

Nope. Living in Birmingham, we didn’t get a lot but when we did, it shut things down until it melted. That ranged from a few hours, usually, to a full week once in the early 90’s. Hopefully, the arctic blast that may reach parts of Florida next week, will not bring any frozen precipitation to St. Augustine. The last time it snowed here was in 1951 according to a quick google search.

I've always liked snow after it first falls and everything is beautiful and quiet. But then I have to deal with it by shoveling or snow blowing the driveway and fighting traffic to get anywhere. Cincinnati has lots of steep hills so driving is difficult until roads are cleared. Parking lots are a mess because spaces are lost to snow piles and people being clueless how to park. It is ok if it gets warmer and snow melts in a few days, but I recall a winter in 1977 when we had a blizzard before Thanksgiving and the ruts in the road from the ice portion were there until April. We are expecting 8+ in here on Sunday night and the temps will be below freezing for the next two weeks. I'm looking forward to going to Hilton Head in two weeks and hope there are no storms on my drive there.

I really like sitting on the lanai in Kauai while using my Ring doorbell to watch our service shoveling the snow.

Now you're talking. Lol

I have always liked snow, but have grown to LOVE it over the last decade.

I remember being very sad post-2020 thinking that kids would never get snow days again. Fortunately I was wrong and they still seem to cancel school for significant snow (or ice) storms. Unfortunately work snow days are a thing of the past - even if the office closes we are expected to work remotely on those days.

The Governor of Virginia have called for a State of Emergency because of the weather forecast for snow.

The snow missed us, but not the cold weather. It's -1 and windy, so it feels like -16. It's a good day for a fire in the fireplace.
