Anyone bought Riviera resale just for Riviera?

My original wait time for the upcoming MM on April 30 was 27 minutes. And it was 27 minutes, give or take a minute. I did get in (2 people). I heard that anyone with more than 45 minutes was not as lucky. I also know that there was not any kind of room available for April 30, so I can’t even imagine how many were trying.

I’m hoping we don’t need to cancel. DH has not been feeling well….finally went for his yearly….although I’ve been nagging him for months that he wasn’t looking well/acting well (usually at the gym 4x week, energetic…especially after I finally convinced him to have a sleep study….30 events per hour). Long story short he got a 4 am phone call to get to the hospital immediately. His blood work showed he was really low on blood and was heading for kidney failure. Apparently as soon as the lab saw his results, called the doctor on call and in turn called him. Two transfusions later…short hospital stay but lots of follow ups and tests, he is doing better and his blood levels are coming up. And kidney function is improving. Still trying to pinpoint why it happened. Have to see a hematologist, and that scares the daylights out of me. Saw his regular md yesterday…he said he was hours away from deaths Door. Lesson to be learned….listen to your spouse or SO when they tell you something isn’t right.
Anyway….hoping for the best. We need this trip.

Thanks. Cardiologist Monday….ultrasound of heart showed some abnormalities but last time it turned out to be calcifications. Hopefully the same this time, but still need to solve the mystery of why his levels dropped. Had his nose scoped a few days ago….lots going on in there too…..causing his persistent cough. Doubled the Prilosec dose and seems to be helping. Very frustrating for him. We are not health nuts or anything….just try to eat a healthy balanced diet and exercise regularly. He says he turned 70 and the wheels started to come off.
I’m past the 30 day mark for cancelling my DVC reservations. My points will go into holding if I cancel….or I could very easily do a last minute rental. Or if he needs heart surgery, DVC will sometimes make an exception and cancel without penalty. But I’m hoping for the best.
We do have a night at the Riviera. Planning on doing counter service dining plan for one night. We know how to get the biggest bang for our buck. The menus for the Flower and Garden look great.

Have to cancel. Rooms popping up on the availability website will make people happy, and that makes me happy. Have benefited from this in the past. Love my DVC, there will be more trips in the future.
