Unfortunately we will only be there one night as a stopover between Bar Harbor and Boston. I would appreciate any insight on a nice, quiet, clean place to stay. Thanks!
I visited Ogunquit but didn't stay there. It is a nice place. I don't think any of the major chains Marriott, Hilton, IHG, etc. have any properties there. My sister-in-law stayed in a basic roadside motel. A throwback to the 1950's but it was clean and inexpensive and met her requirements. There did seem to be some independent hotels on the marginal way with a good view of the ocean. We ate dinner at one of them, Beachmere Inn IIRC. I didn't see any of the rooms. Dinner was nice and typical resort area pricing (e.g. expensive because you're paying for ambiance). Definitely the kind of town to look at independents or vacation rentals. Good luck....
The Dunes on the Waterfront is a unique Ogunquit hotel just 300 yards from Ogunquit Beach, ideally situated with Maine vacation rentals for families or couples.

I am sorry that I am just seeing this. We live about 20/30 minutes from Ogunquit, so of course, we don’t stay there. We do go over in the off-season to spend the day and call it our mini vacation! If you’re still looking for a place, do you want ocean front, the middle of the week or a weekend night, for how many, and do you have a price range? We own at the Hillcrest Inn but I believe they require a two night stay during this time of year. If you’re looking for breakfast or lunch places, I recommend The Greenery. Ogunquit is beautiful and you’ll enjoy your stay even if it’s only one night.

Thanks for all the good info, will definitely check out The Greenery. We ended up booking a night at The Admiral’s Inn for one night on the recommendation of a TUGGER.
Thanks for the info, we really liked Ogunquit. The Marginal Way was a pleasant surprise, we loved walking the path. Lovely homes and hotels along the way. We went to Perkins Cove as well, and had a nice meal.

So glad you enjoyed your short stay in Ogunquit. It must have been cool and windy, but Marginal Way is beautiful whatever the weather is. We’re native Mainers, and the color this year might be the worst we’ve ever seen. I hope it was more colorful in some of the other areas you stayed. Enjoy Boston as there is so much there to experience and enjoy.
