After a wonderful cruise Kelli & I came down with a horrible virus. It started on Tues (and kept me from seeing Mom) We both have temps over 101, nausea, etc. We are on heavy doses of antibiotics and he wants us out of work until Monday. At the last show we were sitting next to a woman who was blowing her nose heavily ( I wish I had said something to her instead of glaring at her!! There was nowalk virus on this ship not long ago so I'm just wondering. It sure was fun until now. shaggy

We're down about a dozen people at work this week. It hit me last Thursday and I just returned today...still not 100% and probabaly won't be for some time. (Of course I just read the thread title a bit more carefully...ill without the cruise).

Hi Shaggy

Sorry to read that you and Kelli are so sick - Get Well Soon

Well, Shaggy, if Kelli is sick it can't be from where we ate in Puerto Vallarta. I am fine, still.
Hope you had fun otherwise,
Karen

Karen, no it wasn't from where we ate. It was wonderful. I just called Princess and they said there had been no reports of sickness. I guess I got it from the sick lady in the front row next to Kelli. shaggy

Shagnut, you know where we live. So many people have this strange virus. It takes weeks to get rid of. The Dr's are very busy right now. Feel better. BOBCAT

Unfortunately, cruise ships do a terrific job of spreading viruses around to everyone on the ship. Even with all the hand sanitizer most ships have available everywhere, there are still lots of handrails, door knobs, theater seats, etc that get touched by lots of people.

On our Baltic cruise last June it was sort of perversely interesting to watch how, at every successive port, more of the people getting on the various tour buses were coughing and sneezing. I didn't come down with whatever creeping crud it was until the very last day, but it sure made the flight home from Copenhagen miserable, not just for me but for lots of people in the vicinity, I'm sure.

Sorry to hear about you and Kelli. Hope you both get better soon.

Both Buddy and I missed that bug thank goodness. From the size of our final bar bill I would say there was plenty of alcohol available to sanitize any of the germs and keep us healthy :hysterical:
