long complicated story, read messages from the beginning
Owners who bought under Raintree are very, very unhappy
Can't get a clear picture just ohow much construction SVO is doing
It seems like a mess
here is part of an owners unhappy message
My family just concluded our annual Thanksgiving week vacation at
Grand and I feel compelled to share some thoughts and concerns for
your consideration.
It is very difficult to verbalize the disappointment we felt upon
seeing the once beautiful property of Grand changed from contemporary
elegant white to the terra cotta color. How can it be that the owners
were not informed of a decision of this magnitude regardless of the
'fashion rights' of Sanchez Navarro? In my opinion, the aesthetic
appeal of the property has not been enhanced but rather cheapened. I
could not find an owner last week who liked the change or knew about
it prior to arrival. Shame on all who supported this change without a
fight. It seems that there were too few people making a rather
important decision about a very major change. I invested in the
property, in part, because of the unique aesthetic appeal. It now
appears that we can add this outcome to the list of many things that
the owners were deceived about. After all of this painting effort, the
support columns on the balconies are still unpainted. How can anyone
feel that raw concrete is a good look? If there was no legal way
around the re-painting effort, is it unreasonable to expect that a
tasteful alternative could have been explored? Who is making these
decorating decisions?
The following observations concern maintenance issues that you should
be aware of: 1. The balcony hot tubs never seem to function without
frequent calls of help to either maintenance or housekeeping. They
were not installed to be user friendly and the touch pads rarely work.
Every time I have used a unit, the controls need to be operated from
outside the unit by a staff member. This is not what guests or owners
should be required to deal with. 2. For some unknown reason
housekeeping removed all of the pillow tops from the mattresses and
only replaced them upon request. Our first night was like sleeping on
a marble slab until we figured out the problem with some help from
another owner. 3. The dishwasher in our unit was pulled out from the
cabinet upon our arrival. It was repaired but I have to wonder why a
staff member had not reported and repaired it before the room was
released for occupancy. 4. The poor design of the corner cabinet door
under the kitchen sink always seems to be broken. Our cabinet was no
exception and it took the entire week for someone to repair it. 5. A
spot light over the balcony hot tub was removed, the wires were cut
and it was never repaired during our stay. Who follows up with things
like this? Should an owner or paying guest of an owner have to worry
about such things?
