We've been batting around for months the fact that Starwood decides what week to deposit into II ; this in spite of the fact that many owners are not part of SVO. These owners, as we all agree, should not subject to Starwood "Stalinist" insistance of depositng whatever week they feel like into II.

Can we start a thread including new updates or experiences that have led to successful challenges to this arbitrary practice? Does anyone with a 'fixed" week have experience insisting that their fixed week only can be deposited? Please, let share info, since SVO is using a divide and conquer strategy now.

I will probably have to deposit my Week#47 (SVV) 2009, supposedly Platinum, who knows now!, into the II System. Cannot get a good trade with only 67,100 points.

Planning to do it within 2 weeks. Does it mean I cannot or at least can I request an specific week in an II Resort? This is getting worse by the minute :(

This issue does not impact what weeks you can request to receive in an exchange - it concerns what week Starwood chooses to deposit for you.

Read your Bylaws or public offering...

The update I offer is to read your bylaws or public offering statement. They clearly outline how a deposit to an external exchange company is made. If you are not part of SVN, ignore that section. I can only speak for SBP but it is CLEAR in Exhibit 8 of the public offering statement that we are to make a reservation first in order to deposit it for exchange. A little persistence on the phone with SVO agents has yielded the expected results for me....

But as I understand it, the response always seems to be "per agreement with II, we reserve the right to deposit what we want for you" and there is nothing that says we cannot.

SVN employees probably wouldn't know what a public offering statement was if it hit them in the head, and moreover, if it isn't explicit, they will ignore it.

I own 4 fixed ski weeks. 3 are in the system and 1 is not. If I want to deposit 1 of these weeks, I can only deposit the specific week I own - it doesn't matter if the week is in the system or not. At least, that has been my experience.

For SBP at least, if you ask to speak with a supervisor, they seem to finally let you deposit your reserved week.

There is no "agreement" with II the pertains to non-SVN owners. The public offering statement for SBP is clear and regardless of their understanding, escalation will usually resolve the issue. How far you have to escalate MAY vary BUT if you stick with it you will get your reserved week deposited.

I just checked my Lakeside Terrace paperwork and it pretty well states the same thing as your SBP.

I have deposited both sides of my Desert Oasis lock-off floating unit at II. I call & reserve at Starwood (although I am not in the network) and have a reservation # assigned for each side. Then I deposit the weeks online. I have done this in 2006 and again this year. There has never been a problem. I reserved March weeks this time. Previously I reserved Easter week. I did read somewhere that we may have to pay next year's MF first but so far that hasn't been true for me. I have already exchanged the small 1 bedroom side. I plan to use the large side myself so did not deposit it. I can search with it and may exchange it if something larger shows up for the same week.

HI there, :hi:

How did you deposit a week with IL online? I tried to deposit my
reserved week online, but then I got a message to call Owner services.

After speaking with Owner Services, I did not have any luck trying to get them to deposit my reserved week 51 at SVR even though we are not in the SVN :(

It would definitely up the convenience factor if we can all deposit our reserved week online ourselves.
